Happy Engagement and Happy Wedding Planning!
What a wonderful season it is to be engaged to the love of your life and planning the celebration of your marriage! If you are a COVID-19 effected bride reading this... I 100% know how you feel. My husband and I were originally going to get married on 05/03/2020 but had to cancel in the midst of the pandemic. With no idea when we would be able to reschedule, I was absolutely heartbroken. There was a small period of time after cancelling where I halted all planning. Who knows when or how or if we will have a wedding, so what's the point in planning? Finally, after changing just about everything from venue to DJ (We went though 4 different DJ's directly because of COVID-19, no joke) we finally set a date, 07/11/2020!
Being on the other side of this disastrous experience of being a COVID-19 bride, I can honestly say that it is one of the craziest emotional rollercoasters I have been on. With a new mandate here and a new restriction there EVERY DAY leading up to our wedding, I was sure our day would be ruined again! Luckily, we made it to the other side and that season of our lives is behind us. HALLELUJAH!
Our wedding went from around 150 to 50, but the feeling was just as magical, maybe even more-so with less people! We had an absolute blast out on the dance floor and spent an amazing weekend with close family, it was perfect.
Now on to the Amazon recommendations:
If you don't already know this about me... I'm an Amazon Prime girl! I ordered a lot of things for this wedding off of Amazon, and I'm going to share some of the awesome finds with you today!
#1: BRIDESMAID GIFT BOXES
These are awesome and sturdy! I used these on the wedding weekend to give my bridesmaids gifts. I gave each of them a personalized embroidered robe with their name on it for getting ready and a tumbler cup that says Bridesmaid (linked below)! I included a personal note to each of them thanking them for being apart of our big day!
I think these boxes would work great for Bridesmaid proposals as well!

#2: PERSONALIZED CAKE TOPPER
I am so in love with our cake topper! This was my first time ordering something personalized on Amazon, and I am pretty sure I got it with 2 day shipping, which is impressive for a personalized product. The packaging was so cool, and it worked out exactly as I pictured for our day!
Shout out to Sugar Ray's Bake Shop for making our delicious and beautiful cake! https://www.sugarraysbakeshop.com
#3: HIS AND HERS VOW BOOKS
My husband and I did our vows a little differently. We did a vow reading after our first look with just the two of us. It was perfect and the vows were tailored to each other rather than trying to appease the guests by reading them during the ceremony. This way I wouldn't have to worry about crying (which I did) and trying to keep my composure during the ceremony. I ordered these little books for us to write our wedding vows in and since there are so many pages, we are going to write new vows each year and look back on pervious vows/notes from the year before.
#4: BUBBLES FOR BUBBLE SEND OFF
Our original plan was to have a sparkler send off, but since we changed our venue, we had to think of another idea. Our "send off" was going to be indoors so a bubble send off was pretty much the only option! DO NOT underestimate these bubbles. When I ordered them I figured they would not work very well or produce many bubbles since they are in such a small tube, but they were absolutely PERFECT and were exactly what I wanted! Look at all those bubbles!
#5: BACKDROP SUPPLIES
Backdrop Stand:
Twinkle Lights:
White Curtain Backdrop:
I almost didn't notice that our sweetheart table was going to be in front of a mirror. That would have been a photography and videography nightmare. I wanted a white backdrop with some greenery and twinkle lights, so I ordered the supplies to try it myself and see if we could pull it off! Here is the finished result! Now is a good time to give a shout out to my amazing mother in law who coordinated all of the decorations and set up! She is a rockstar in that department! We really couldn't have pulled any of it off without her.
#6: BRIDAL VEIL
YES, I bought my veil on Amazon and it was perfect! I wore it for maybe an hour total during the ceremony and during some formal family shots. After that, I took it off and completely forgot about it. I definitely don't regret NOT buying a $200 veil at all.
Shoutout to my brother for being an amazing dancer that is willing to break it down on the dance floor with me when nobody else will.
#7: THANK YOU CARDS
Last but not least, thank you cards! If you didn't get custom thank you cards made and want a quality card to send to your guests, I would definitely recommend these cards.
Random tidbit from our wedding: My husband is a big milk drinker so after we cut the cake, I had them deliver a half gallon of milk to us to share. It was hilarious and he really enjoyed that personal surprise.
