My husband and I have officially been living in our first apartment together for ONE YEAR as of September 13th, 2020! When we first moved in, we were blessed with the funds to furnish our apartment with all new furniture from Living Spaces and kept storage in mind when selecting our furniture pieces. Even after a year of living in our space, we are still adding new storage solutions all the time. Today I wanted to show you my favorite new addition to our storage arsenal!
Pantry storage has been one of our biggest organizational nightmares in our current apartment. Our built in pantry space has really deep shelves that have proven difficult to organize because everything gets pushed to the back and forgotten about. Since we are already utilizing all of the storage space in our kitchen, we decided to build a rolling pantry to fit in the unused space between the pantry and the fridge! I have seen this project on Pinterest over the years and I have talked to my husband about it since we moved in a year ago. Finally, one year later, we bought the lumber and started building and painting our little hearts out.
Just like that (4 days of work later) we have a roll out pantry! I'm sure you can imagine the excitement when we brought it back to our apartment. We instantly started tearing our pantry apart to see what could be transferred to our new fancy roll out! Our most exciting transfer was our seasonings! We previously had all of them in our silverware drawer, which started to get cramped and messy. Now we have additional space in our silverware drawer to store other kitchen utensils. This little roll out has created a snowball effect of new storage solutions for us and we couldn't be happier with our decision to create this for our space!
This project can be done for less than $200! None of this would have been possible without my amazing husband and Gage from Nomada Woodworks! We were able to utilize Gage's business shop and tools for our project and we couldn't be more grateful. Gage is a local woodworker who makes custom wood signs and more! He has shipped signs all over the world! Go check out his shop on Etsy here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/NomadaWoodworks?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=796808552
I hope this inspired my fellow apartment living friends to utilize all of the places in your small space! Organized storage makes my heart happy! More apartment organization tips/projects to come! Stay tuned!
